Our shared commitment to a safe, respectful, and inspiring music community.
RLGL is a learning community. Every interaction — lessons, messages, reviews, community posts — is governed by these standards. All users accept this Code of Conduct at registration. Violation may result in warnings, restrictions, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
Section 1
Instructor Code of Professional Conduct
Instructors on RLGL are professional educators. By joining the platform, you agree to:
Maintain professional boundaries at all times — during lessons, in messages, and in all platform interactions.
Never request personal contact information from students or attempt to move communication off-platform.
Teach only within represented qualifications — do not claim credentials, experience, or expertise not reflected in your approved profile.
Maintain a safe environment for minors — apply heightened awareness and professional boundaries when teaching students under 18.
Report safety concerns — if you observe signs of abuse, neglect, or harm involving a minor, report through RLGL's mandatory reporting channel.
Comply with lesson recording — all lessons are recorded. Instructors may not disable, obstruct, or tamper with recording.
Respond to platform communications promptly — admin inquiries, conduct complaints, and safety reviews within specified timeframes.
Represent yourself honestly — accurate credentials, experience, availability, and pricing.
Section 2
Student Code of Respect
Students (and guardians acting on behalf of minor students) agree to:
Treat instructors with respect — lessons are a professional service. Abusive, discriminatory, or threatening language is prohibited.
Attend lessons prepared and on time — repeated no-shows and last-minute cancellations disrupt instructors' livelihoods.
Use messaging for lesson-related communication only — do not use messaging for personal, romantic, or commercial solicitation.
Provide honest feedback — reviews and complaints should be accurate and in good faith. Fabricated or retaliatory reviews are grounds for account action.
Comply with lesson recording — all lessons are recorded. Students may not disable, obstruct, or tamper with recording.
Respect instructor boundaries — if an instructor declines a request, accept the professional judgment.
Section 3
Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is prohibited for all users and may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal:
RLGL takes violations seriously. Consequences are proportional to severity:
Low Severity
Private warning from RLGL. Education on the specific standard violated. No further action if not repeated.
Medium Severity
Formal warning on record. Temporary restrictions (messaging limits, search visibility reduction). Monitored for recurrence.
High Severity
Account suspension (temporary). Lessons cancelled. Payouts held during investigation. Reinstatement requires admin review.
Critical / Emergency
Immediate account deactivation. Permanent removal from platform. Law enforcement notified if applicable. No appeal for child safety violations.
Section 5
Child Safety Commitment
RLGL takes the safety of young musicians seriously.
Children and teens are a significant part of our community. Every measure in this Code of Conduct is designed with their safety in mind, and we apply additional protections specifically for students under 18.
All instructors are verified. Every instructor completes identity verification before teaching. Instructors who teach minors undergo enhanced background screening.
All lessons with minors are recorded. This is mandatory and cannot be turned off. Both the student and their guardian can access recordings.
Guardian-linked accounts. Students under 18 are linked to a parent or guardian account. Guardians control messaging preferences and receive safety notifications.
Complaints involving minors are auto-escalated. Any conduct complaint involving a student under 18 receives priority review with accelerated response times.
Mandatory reporting. RLGL complies with all applicable mandatory reporting laws. Suspected abuse or harm is reported to the appropriate authorities.
Zero tolerance. Any form of exploitation, grooming, or inappropriate behavior toward a minor results in immediate, permanent deactivation and referral to law enforcement.
Section 6
How to Report a Concern
If you experience or witness a violation of this Code of Conduct, you can report it through any of these channels:
In-lesson "Report" button — available during any active lesson for immediate concerns.
Message thread menu — use the three-dot menu in any conversation to report or block a user.
Review flagging — flag any review that contains prohibited content.
Support — contact RLGL support from your dashboard for any concern that doesn't fit the above.
All reports are confidential. The identity of the reporter is never shared with the person being reported. You will never face retaliation for making a good-faith report.
Section 7
Blocking
Every user has the right to block any other user at any time, for any reason. Blocking is silent — the blocked user is not notified. When you block someone:
You won't be able to message each other.
Any scheduled lessons are automatically cancelled.
You won't see each other on the platform.
You can unblock a user at any time from your Account Settings.
Section 8
Our Promise to You
RLGL is committed to maintaining a platform where musicians of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels can learn, teach, and grow. We promise to:
Investigate every report thoroughly and fairly.
Protect reporter confidentiality — always.
Act swiftly on safety concerns, especially those involving minors.
Be transparent about our rules and consequences.
Continuously improve our safety measures as our community grows.
